After graduating with my Bachelor's Degree, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to join a startup company (Empowering People, Inc.) and participate in the launch and growth of that company. As general manager, I was responsible for all the internal operations as well as the marketing.
I implemented an efficient and cost-effective system for order processing and customer service. I incorporated a new software system and trained the staff. I worked with vendors on product development, printing, and media production. I planned and budgeted marketing campaigns. These efforts produced 500% growth in my first 3 years with the company.
As the company grew rapidly, I was able to navigate several location changes to accommodate our growing needs. We were able to do all this without going into debt and providing a profit for the owner.
Due to the passing of one of the main authors, as well as the fact that the owner is not planning to invest for future growth, I find myself in a time of transition. Although I have always been very happy with Empowering People, Inc., I am excited about the possibilities for my future.
I am hoping to find a position that will allow me to use my creative abilities. I have always enjoyed the process of creating catalogs, flyers, newsletters, websites and everything that goes along with marketing communications. I also enjoy the process of creating and managing products.
Having managed a small business for so many years, I am used to handling multiple responsibilities and working to meet deadlines. I also understand the importance of budgeting and working to achieve maximum return on investment.
